Product Review Costume Super Center Enchanting Princess Costume

0 komentar
The Elite Enchanting Princess Adult Costume is available on the Costume Super Center website. Currently priced at a discounted $151.99 (regularly $189.99) this costume is in the grand tradition of the classic fairy tale Cinderella.  It is available in sizes small, medium, large and extra large. The costume, which is made by InCharacter Costumes, comes with a ball gown, choker, crown, gloves, and petticoat.

The item arrived packaged in a large box. The product itself was in a large plastic bag with a hanger. Instructions are enclosed on how to insert the wire into the petticoat. I ordered my dress in a size small which fits dress sizes between 4-6. The dress is absolutely beautiful. It is blue, white and gold. The bodice has a gold trim and theres a beautiful pattern on the center of the bodice and sleeves. The sleeves also have pretty beads hanging from them. The dress is 100% polyester and must be dry cleaned. The petticoat is 70% nylon, 21% polyester. The petticoat can be washed set on cold (no bleach) and air dried.

The choker is made of black ribbon with a pearl and faux diamond gem. The white gloves are nicely made. Unfortunately because I am petite, I found them to be a bit too long, reaching all the way to my sleeve (I ended up pulling them down slightly). The crown is made of a plastic headband with gold sequins. I have to report that I do not care for the cheap quality of the crown and plan to replace it. I used a blonde wig that I all ready owned to finish that Cinderella look.

I feel that the Elite Enchanting Princess Costume would be a great addition to your costume collection. The dress is gorgeous, highly detailed and very well made. It fits perfectly and is comfortable to wear. The petticoat is also great quality. The gloves and choker are a nice touch. My only disappointment is the crown but that is easily replaceable by purchasing a better quality one at an affordable price at  Claires or Icing. Nick Gordon suggests Bobbi Kristina committed suicide

0 komentar
A week after the cause of Bobbi Kristinas death was made public, her live-in-boyfriend Nick Gordons attorney released a statement yesterday proclaiming his innocence, insisting he tried to save Bobbi Kristina the night she was found face down in her bathtub and suggested she may have killed herself. Read the statement after the cut...

“Nick Gordon’s life has been tumultuous since January of 2015 when he lost the love of his life. On top of being prohibited from visiting Bobbi Kristina at the hospital for the last six months of her life, Nick has been publicly humiliated for more than a year.
Throughout that time, the Fulton County District Attorney’s office has tried to make Nick a murderer despite having clear and convincing evidence that Bobbi Kristina’s death was nothing more than a tragic accident, evidence that the District Attorney’s office fought to seal and conceal from the public rather than allowing her fans to know the truth.
The truth is that Nick tried to save Bobbi Kristina’s life. The truth is that Nick cooperated with law enforcement since day one. The truth is that no one loved Bobbi Kristina more than Nick and no one has suffered more as a result of her death than Nick.
The Fulton County District attorney’s office even now continues to suggest that there is an ongoing investigation. However, at the recent hearing regarding unsealing the autopsy report, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Henry Newkirk repeatedly reiterated that the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office has had 13 months to investigate. By failing to acknowledge that there is simply no evidence of any wrongdoing, they have in essence helped feed the slanderous media frenzy regarding Nick Gordon.
Frankly, the right thing for the District Attorney’s office to do right now is to tell the public the truth… that this was an accident… or even a suicide, but not a murder. And the right thing for everyone to do is let Nick live his life now and let Bobbi Kristina rest in peace.”

Friendship Over Fame A Lesson in Costuming

0 komentar
Costuming has changed a lot since I began practicing the hobby back in 2006. In the beginning, way before I began,  it was a way to express your love for your favorite characters and creativity. These days,  it has become an avenue for internet fame. The scene has become somewhat chaotic and its easy to get lost and lose sight of why you began costuming in the first place. Goals change from expressing your fandom to becoming the most popular cosplayer on the internet and many lose themselves in the quest for cosplay fame. Back stabbing ensues along with egos, drama and rumors.

In the last few years, I have grown tremendously as a person and have learned valuable life lessons. This has to do with perspective and awareness. Meditation has taught me many things and has brought peace and clarity into my life. Accepting and taking responsibility for my actions and making better decisions in relationships and in life has helped me a great deal. I say this because I have learned a valuable lesson in the costuming category due to the decisions I made; I chose friendship over fame.

I have seen a lot of people change over the last few years. People who were once humble and kind turned out to be anything but. Individuals who I thought were my friends proved to be nothing more than a trendy cosplayer trying to network. I found myself trying to keep up with my Cosplay Page so it wouldnt get lost in the ever increasing flood of new cosplayers. It became a job. Before I knew it, I realized that I wasnt having fun anymore. In fact, I was pretty miserable. I knew then that I needed to redirect my focus and remember why I began costuming in the first place. Rediscovering that love and focusing on the true friendships I have made are what helped me get back on track. I also started a branch for a nation wide charity for the state of Pennsylvania. Giving back to the community through super hero charity work and helping kids in need brings me such happiness and peace.

At the end of the day, why does it matter how many Facebook likes you have? Why should you care about who is sleeping with who? Why waste your time with people who arent truly interested in being your friend? Why deal with the egotists who feel that they are above you and view themselves as "celebrities"? It doesnt. It doesnt matter. Theres more to life than that.

At the recent Megacon show in Orlando, Florida. I spent time with friends I have knows for roughly 3 years now and got to know new ones. Looking back, I realize how blessed and fortunate I am to have found such a beautiful group of people whom I love very much. Some of them I regard as family. They accept me 110% for who I am. Growing up, I had many social issues. I was bullied because I was the girl who wore a Superman shirt to school and carried a Jim Balent Catwoman comic in my binder. I was rejected from a group because I wasnt Caucasian and the other group rejected me because I wasnt Latin enough with my light skin, green eyes and inability to speak Spanish. I was made fun of for having dark hair. I never imagined that as an adult, I would been accepted. Wearing a geek shirt would be okay and no one cared what color my eyes or hair was. The love and the friendships I made, being accepted for who I am and expressing my love for comic characters; that is what costuming is all about.

Should every man over the age of 65 be on a statin

0 komentar
If you believe the latest arteriosclerotic cardiovascular risk calculator, the answer is yes.

A previous version seemed to recommend statins for everyone over a certain age. I decided to plug in the optimal values, conveniently stated in a footnote beneath the data entry fields, for a 65-year-old man. Here is what the data entry looks like.

As you can see below, the risk calculator recommends "moderate to high-intensity statin therapy."

Below the recommendation, it says, "Adults 40 to 75 years of age with LDL-C 70 to 189 mg/dL with no diabetes and estimated 10-year ASCVD risk ?7.5% should be treated with moderate to high-intensity statin therapy." This is a apparently high-level (A1) evidence-based recommendation.

What am I not understanding here?

I would very much appreciate it if some cardiologists would comment and explain to me how such a sweeping recommendation came to be.

Is this accepted as gospel? Do all cardiologists recommend statins in the above situation?

House of Reps members take over Kogi Assembly

0 komentar
Following the one month crisis that has rocked the Kogi state House of Assembly, members of the House of Reps today March 8th, resolved to take over the function of the state assembly. The Kogi state House of Assembly was thrown into crises after five members impeached the speaker Momoh Jimoh Lawal and elected Umar Imam as new speaker last month.

A panel set up by the House of Representatives to resolve the issue was shunned by the Assembly members. In taking the decision at plenary, the House of Rep members said its action was in line with the provision of Section 11 (4) of the 1999 Constitution, which says the National Assembly could take over the functions of any state assembly that is enmeshed in crisis.

They urged the Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase to immediately seal off the Kogi Assembly since the House has taken over its functions.

Xenophibia Nigerians demand compensation from S Africa as Jacob Zuma visits Nigeria

0 komentar
On Tuesday, South African president Jacob Zuma paid a courtesy visit to President Buhari and Nigerians in the diaspora called on President Buhari to ensure the South African government adequately compensates victims of the 2015 xenophobia attack.

Mr Ikechukwu Anyene, president of Nigeria Union, South Africa urged president Buhari to seize the opportunity of Zumas visit to ask for compensation, saying none of the Xenophobia attack victims have been compensated since then despite losing their means of livelihood.

“Lots of Nigerians lost their means of livelihood, material possessions and for many, all their hard work. We have sought for compensation on behalf of these victims from the South African government through the Nigerian government so that the victims can be adequately compensated. Up to this point in time nothing has been heard about the compensation request on behalf of the victims. For some years now, a lot of Nigerians in South Africa have been victims of assassination by unknown people and rogue officers of the South African Police Service. Most of the cases have not been solved and nobody has been arrested in majority of the cases, even as many of them were reported to the police with official case numbers, this is strange in a country where the police force is efficient and the rate of successful prosecution is high up to 92.2 per cent in 2014/15. We implore the minister to demand from the highest level of South African authorities to set up a panel to investigate our claims and address our concerns,” Anyene said.
